Chitosan
-
Sometimes
referred to as a
"fat magnet",
Chitosan is derived from chitin, a polysaccharide found
in the exoskeleton of shellfish such as shrimp, lobster,
and crab. Chitosan
causes
weight loss by binding with fats in the stomach, thereby
preventing them from being digested and stored in the
body.
Psyllium
(Husk) -
Composed
mostly of hemicellulose, Psyllium
acts as a
sponge in the intestinal tract, swelling as it absorbs
water and waste material in the bowels.
This forms a soft, bulky mass that passes through the
colon more quickly (preventing potentially toxins from
remaining in the colon) and evacuates more smoothly and
easily.
Malic Acid -
Malic acid is critical for both aerobic and anaerobic
energy production. Normally, in hypoxic states (times
when the body is starved of oxygen, as one experiences
during exhaustive exercise) glycolysis (the breakdown of
sugar for energy) is inhibited. Malic acid
breaks
this bottleneck and allows energy production,
facilitating enhanced endurance.
Lipase (Vegetarian) -
This powerful amino acid catalyzes the hydrolysis
(breakdown) of emulsified esters of glycerol and long
chain fatty acids.
Aloe Vera Leaf (Concentrate
1:200) -
Aloe Vera is
excellent
for absorbing toxins, as well as promoting growth of
friendly "good" colon bacteria,
necessary for good health. Aloe is a staple ingredient
in many colon cleansing products.
